Berlin Wall’s under threat from property developers

(Filmed on a bike ride, some months ago)

Our loved Berlin wall has been in the news this week. Built on 13 August 1961, the wall completely cut off West Berlin from surrounding East Germany and from East Berlin, and falled in November 1989.
Gentrification and property developers are taking the heart of this city’s most interesting spots teared away. I’m afraid that the Berlin the we get to know and love will disappear in a few years.

I totally agree with this comment from Brenzone readed in the Guardian:

Always luxury flats … while the need is for people’s flats, standard ones. The selfishness of the bourgeoisie knows no limits, even in the depths of a recession of this magnitude. Tastelessness seems to rule as never before. God, it seems, is asleep. The misery brought about by unbridled, profiteering capitalism is set to continue. Bring on anarchy!
