Installing Ubuntu Linux in a tablet

When I read that Ubuntu made a special version to install in Acer’s Nexus 7 Tegra 3 tablet it certainly caught my attention. But after reading quite a lot in the forums I decided that I’m not going to loose time installing a quite buggy version to replace Android. Or I will, but just to help out reporting bugs, not for personal use.

After reading about Nvidia’s Tegra 3 I realized there are a lot of devices where this can work out.
One of my favourite in list is Asus Eee Pad Transformer that seems to work out quite well but with some annoyances.

I know that this is still quite experimental. But for me that I’m a php backend / front end developer to run a text editor and Firefox will be more than enough to work.

What is your opinion about it ? Would you use something like this as a second laptop ?
Would you take the time to give it a try ?
